5 AM Snowglobe

We went to bed to snow last night and any time this happens, if I wake up in the night, I always have to look outside to see the progress of the storm. Not and easy tasks because that entails finding my glasses in a near blind state. This morning I woke up at 5 AM and attempted to look out the window of the front door. Not really to my surprise, as weather.com had called for a blizzard, I couldn't see past the snow that had drifted up and stuck to my wreath. Now I know I'm not normal in a lot of ways, but I couldn't help but be excited by this human snow globe I was living in. For all I knew, someone had picked up the globe and shook it around a little to get all that snow blowing. I opened the door a crack, which I don't suggest doing when you are in a snow globe, and instantly froze my feet as some snow came in.

I went back to bed and had to fight the urge to wake Gary up to tell him. I stayed in bed for an hour without going back to sleep. I kept thinking of all kinds of things to blog about, of all things, but now my mind is pretty much a blank. When Gary woke up around 6, I told him about the drifting snow. He didn't seem as excited as I was, maybe because he knew he'd have to go shovel. It's almost 7:30 now and Gary is out the shoveling the parts that have to be shoveled, but pretty soon he is going to start up his newest toy...the snow blower. I just have one question though. If the wind is already blowing the snow around, what is the point of a snow blower? :) It should be quite entertaining to see who wins in the blowing of the snow, Gary or mother nature.
